Support staff morning tea On Wednesday we had a morning tea for our support staff to thank them for all the amazing things they do for us and our school. Thanks to our volunteer teachers who are doing their jobs during the break so our support staff could enjoy their morning tea in peace!! Assemblies on Monday Below is a summary of what I talked about in our junior and senior assemblies. Respect As you know, one of our school values is respect - showing respect by caring for ourselves, each other, guests, and our environment. Recently, I had 3 year 12 health students come and see about the results of their survey on bullying and to talk to me about what we as a school could do. Firstly, kia ora to Matua Joe, Whaea Erin and Whaea Kylie for all of their hard work in supporting the mihi whakatau and the day in general. Secondly, a little introduction from me about Angus’ and Sonja’s journey to us today. Back in December last year I started talking to Andy (our previous principal) about our hand over 2021. He told me that he had met someone over the hill who he thought would be great to work with Greymouth High School. I had to work out what Andy meant by over the hill and here a hill meant a ginormous mountain range. However, that’s ok I’m slowly getting it. Anyway, after a few more conversations with Andy we talked again about the person he had met and he told me that was Angus.
